At times, but Leon also has a fatherly vibe. I think he wants to step in and teach Kate how to be open and loving in a way that her father never encouraged. I love that Kate and Leon don’t have a sexual relationship, it is purely spiritual. Kate has full-out brushed Leon off as nothing but a religious preacher man, a man too good for the rest, but she knows deep down that Leon has only every tried to help her. He’s only ever tried to cheer her up and steer her in the direction of happiness. Their connection is strong, yeah?!
SO STRONG! I think Leon has a similar role in Kate’s life to the role Lorna has in Betty’s life. Leon is an inspiration to Kate. He is such a father figure to her. He represents the same institutions her father did religion and music but in a healthy loving way. He sees her strengths and her scars and he accepts her. With out Leon it would have been almost impossible for Kate to get her voice back and accept Betty.
